REBATES

The Bridge Therapy and Learning Services is registered with Medicare and most private health insurers as an “Allied Health Provider”. Families may be able to access rebates through the below.

Medicare Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM)

If your child has a communication difficulty, which has been, or is likely to be, present for six months or more AND is under the care of two health professionals (either a Speech pathologist, Occupational therapist, Physiotherapist, Audiologist or Paediatrician) then they may be eligible to claim speech pathology services through Medicare.

You can consult their GP to have a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan (formerly an Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan) developed for your child.  You may be able to access Medicare rebates for up to 5 visits per year to an allied health provider. That’s a total of 5 visits per patient, not 5 visits per provider, and may be spread across different allied health services.  Please consult the website below for the rebate amount.

Private Health Insurance

If you have ancillary cover through your private health insurance, you may be able to access rebates.  Please contact your private health insurance company for more information.  We have HICAPS facilities so you can claim your rebate on the spot.

Carer Allowance

This is a supplementary payment for carers who provide additional daily care and attention for someone with a disability or medical condition, or who is frail aged, offered through Centrelink.   To be eligible your child must:

  • Be a dependent child under 16 years, and

  • Have a condition from the list of recognised disabilities, or

  • Be likely to suffer from the condition or disability permanently or for an extended period of at least 12 months, or

  • Be one of two dependent children, with disabilities or medical conditions whose combined care needs are equal to that of a single child with a severe disability or severe medical condition, and

  • Meet the residence requirements, and

  • Receive care in their home or in hospital.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

Clients with a self managed plan through the NDIS are able to receive speech pathology services with us.
